One of the awards that KC and I have had so much fun creating is the one for Handmade Community Superstar. The idea is to honor someone who actively supports makers and fosters a better community through their actions.
Last year we were excited to bestow this honor on Lisa Cherry of The Makery, who has also opened her business to makers and makes time to give and share advice.
This year we can't wait to to honor Miriam Dema as our 2015 Handmade Community Superstar for her support of her fellow makers and efforts toward making advancing handmade. Miriam has been doing the "handmade thing" long before Etsy and the big craft shows we know today. She's always wiling to give advice from her experiences and has contributed several great insights to our blog, including this series on her philosophy on craft show self care.
We will celebrate Miriam on March 7 at our awards ceremony. We hope you can join us!
