Today we've got another chance for you to peep on a maker's studio space! This one has some pretty dreamy windows and is surrounded by what looks like a forest to this city-dweller. It's the business home for creative power couple Chris and Andrea Zatarian of Chris & Andy Design. Check out how they make it work for their multiple and varied business needs, plus learn more about how they built their business!
One of my very favorite Jack-of-all-crafts people is Academy of Handmade Master Maker Robert Mahar. He is crazy talented and and any deserves any success that comes his way! Recently he collaborated with stationery brand Knock Knock on a line of vintage and crafty gifts. So we asked him how that happened and all of the behind-the-scenes to bring his vision to life.
This year's Master Maker--presented by CreativeLive--is the incredibly talented Robert Mahar. Robert's career has run the maker and artist gamut and brings a WEALTH of knowledge to his online and in-person workshops. Last week, AHAS hosted a himmeli decor-making party that was generously sponsored byCreativeLive. We noshed on snacks, made 35 Himmeli octahedrons, and had an awesome, maker-schmoozing time! A BIG thank you to Sienne for being our lead instructor and demonstrating Himmeli construction for us in-person. If you weren't able to attend the party, you're still in luck! We took tons of pictures and have a super-simple tutorial so that you can make your very own, stunningly elegant, statement-piece, Himmeli mobiles! Enjoy!
We first had the pleasure of meeting Katrina when she was co-working with The Dieline, which is THE source for all things packaging design. Katrina runs her own packaging and design firm,The Yellow Loft. She excels in making packaging more than functional and using it as an extension of the brand. The Yellow Loft works with many high-end and well-known clients. We were excited to have her talk packaging with advice for makers!
