Academy of Handmade exists because we have community leaders that are willing to help, guide and support their fellow members. One very important leadership role is our Online Chapter Leader. Which, unlike local chapters, everyone in AHAS is in the Online Chapter! :) Our new leader TeDi is a great example of someone who gives back to this community generously. Read on to learn more about her!
I am ecstatic to announce two new leaders in the AHAS community, as well as new positions they are filling. Because Los Angeles is so large geographically, we are now creating "subchapters" where we will focus on making sure we have about six events a year for areas that have a high concentration of members. The first subchapter we are introducing is for the South Bay/Long Beach. Two stellar members that are highly invested in this region are helming the subchapter and I am so excited for you all to meet them!
We have our first chapter outside of the West Coast-- which means world domination can't be far behind. ;) That's why I am so excited today for you to meet the two women who are heading up our new Austin Chapter! Both are talents in their own right and I know they will have a lot to share with the Austin maker community.
If you live in Austin, we'd love for you to attend our kickoff event on Saturday, May 21. RSVP on Facebook so we can make reservations for you!
Have you met the newest face on Team AHAS yet? Kaitlin and Jill are heading up everything happening with our new Seattle Chapter. These ladies are both hugely talented makers and are also big supporters of the makers in their communities. I am pleased to introduce them to you.
BTW, if you're in the Seattle area, there is a chapter happy hour happening on February 10-- please join us! You'll get to meet Kaitlin and Jill, plus a bunch of other awesome makers.
