Isaac Watson: Maker's Nation

What makes you happy?

I love connecting people together, helping them learn something new, and seeing a thriving creative economy.

What does the handmade movement mean to you?

When people make something by hand, whether it’s throwing clay, typing code, brewing beer, or opening a shop, they put a piece of themselves into it, and that can’t be replicated. The handmade movement calls for a shared experience, a stronger sense of self and community, and sense of equality in a way of life.

What inspires you?

Hearing other perspectives and opening my mind up to new possibilities and things I’ve never thought of.

Who do you look up to?

Anyone who is willing to put themselves out there, take a plunge, forge a path, or strike out on their own to do something that they believe in.

Anything else you want to tell us?

In the maker community, there should be no sense of true competition—only collaboration.
